Not Everything Is About You

One of the most valuable lessons we can learn is that not every negative interaction requires us to question ourselves.

Someone may be struggling with their own circumstances. They may lack emotional awareness, feel threatened by change, or have difficulty acknowledging another person’s success.

Sometimes, their behavior has very little to do with who we are.

Other times, an interaction may reveal something we need to address, clarify, or improve. Personal growth requires being open to feedback without automatically accepting blame for someone else’s actions.

We can take responsibility for our own behavior without taking ownership of everyone else’s behavior.
